The NAF Hotline Fund has an immediate full-time opening for the position of Hotline Director.
The NAF Hotline Fund is a 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to providing accurate, unbiased reproductive health care information to women from diverse backgrounds and to providing callers with confidential consultation and referrals to providers of quality abortion care. The Hotline Fund also provides case management services to women with special needs and limited financial assistance to subsidize care for low-income women. The hotline provides services in English, Spanish, and French.
Responsibilities include:
The Hotline Director will manage day-to-day Hotline Fund operations. This includes hiring, supervising, evaluating, and overseeing training of employees; and administering internal and external Hotline Fund policies and procedures. The Hotline Director also will maintain positive and supportive relationships with participating abortion providers; and maintain and update hotline resources. The Hotline Director will manage data collection; track and report on dispersal of funds; and prepare reports for the CEO, Board, and donors. The Hotline Director also will serve as mandated reporter; and conduct outreach and provide information on the hotline to community agencies and other health care organizations.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have at least five years experience managing a diverse staff of approximately 50 part-time and full-time employees; experience managing a multi-million dollar budget; and expertise in the responsibilities listed above. Candidates should also have a demonstrated commitment to a woman's right to choose abortion and understanding of women's complex social and financial situations. Candidates should have excellent written and oral communications skills and be able to work cooperatively with abortion providers, board members, senior management, staff, and other organizations. Candidates should have a bachelor's or advanced degree; experience with data and financial reporting; and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Developing strategies for introducing new legislation and responding to proposed legislation affecting the provision of reproductive health care at the federal level;
- Promoting NAF's policy priorities with the Administration;
- Representing the voices of patients and abortion providers and communicating organizational priorities in meetings with federal legislators and administrators;
- Collaborating with NAF staff to identify trends affecting NAF members at both the state and federal levels and developing legislative initiatives and strategic responses to address member needs;
- Educating and engaging NAF members around legislative and legal issues relating to reproductive health care;
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with other pro-choice organizations and coalitions;
- Assisting the General Counsel in research and work relating to NAF operations, programs and services
Qualifications:
- Commitment to reproductive choice;
- 5 years+ legislative experience;
- Law degree or master's in public policy preferred;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Outstanding analytical ability;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Working knowledge of word processing, database, and web-based applications; and
- Knowledge of women's health care issues desirable

NAF is seeking a full-time, in-house, creative, dynamic, and technically-savvy individual to serve as our Online Communications Coordinator/Web Developer. This individual will combine a strong background in Web development and content creation with a broad understanding of online communications.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining technical integrity of all NAF websites. Advising and assisting in the planning, development, implementation, conversion and maintenance of current and future web sites in an HTML or CMS site maintenance environment, working with HTML, ASP, PHP, CGI, Perl, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, JavaScript, and Windows. Designing new web pages as needed.
- Working closely with program staff to ensure that sites are appropriately updated, dynamic, and user-friendly and conform to standards of usability and accessibility. Websites include content in languages other than English.
- Developing and implementing processes for marketing and promoting sites, analyzing site traffic, and evaluating site effectiveness.
- Implementing social-media outreach, including, but not limited to writing and posting content and online actions; evaluating performance of such activities; and making other relevant updates as needed.
- Assisting with online advocacy efforts including, but not limited to maintaining database of online activists and donors; entering new constituents; and building and sending email campaigns.
- Providing technical assistance and software training, as appropriate, to all staff members.
Qualifications:
- Strong commitment to a woman's right to choose abortion.
- 1 year experience in web page design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Web design skills: Proficiency with HTML code and WYSIWYG editors, and content management systems. Working knowledge of website development tools including Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat Professional, Convio, and of Windows office software including Microsoft Office Professional programs, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
- Analytics skills: Understanding how to measure the effectiveness of an organization’s use of the Internet, as well as the usability of its websites and other online content.
- Search engine optimization skills: Proficiency with meta-language creation, search analytics, code optimization, link building, and Google search.
- Strong familiarity with social media.
- Ability to implement and maintain secure data encryption and authentication.
- Experience with video editing preferred.
- Excellent organization, editing, and communications skills.

Hotline Operators ensure accurate assessment of eligibility for funding assistance and accurate and complete documentation for eligible women. Qualifications:
Candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to a woman's s right to choose abortion and understanding of women's complex social and financial situations. Candidates should also have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to work cooperatively with women and their families, abortion providers, and staff. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree; and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and experience with databases. Proficiency in French/Spanish is preferred.

NAF's Clinic Defense and Research Department works with member clinics to improve security and assist clinic staff in dealing with threats and violence. The department also works with law enforcement officials to improve relationships between law enforcement and clinics, deter violence against abortion providers and pursue and prosecute those responsible for committing acts of violence. In addition, the department produces a monthly newsletter on incidents of violence against clinics and maintains a database of incidents of violence and disruption.
Duties Include:
- Gathering and organizing information on anti-abortion extremists
- Entering and compiling statistics on violence and disruption against abortion providers
- Maintaining database of law enforcement contacts
- Assisting in a wide range of projects as needed
Qualifications:

- Two or more years of undergraduate work with 3.0 GPA or above

- Previous research experience is a plus, but not required.
